Reviews
The atmosphere and service were wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful lite and the overall feel is intimate and cozy. The food was pricey and sadly a bit disappointing. We ordered the rib eye and the trout. The steak was tasty but tough and the fish was overcooked and dry. The cost for the steak $56.00. Too pricey for a tough steak and $32.00 for an overcooked dry trout. We will return and give them another chance. Hopefully the next time the food will be prepared properly and the meat will be tender.
Went for a private party, we had the entire top floor to ourselves with our own bartenders- great service. We were served appetizers that were buffet style, which included quesadillas, flatbread, fruit, dips etc. food was good and the atmosphere was very nice. Will return to try the regular service.
Kylie was fantastic!! We enjoyed our meal and service. She was attentive, kind, and a good conversationalist.
So, we returned Friday eve with another couple to celebrate the gal's birthdays! (Took ca$h, as NOW we know!) Bar service was a bit slow, bartender had to "find" the Justin Cab bottle that we ordered! We opted for the Fried Green 'maters appetizer, they came out prompt and were piping hot! The creamy Horsey sauce complements the tomatoes very well! Once the beverages arrived, the table ordered a couple salads, a Hamburger, the Petite Filet and the Pasta with Parm Chicken, coated with their Marinara Sauce. All enjoyed their selecion but I've got to give credit where due; I had the Pasta with Parm chicken/marinara. It rates as the best pasta dish in memory in Troy Alabama! The wide linguini was cooked perfect, the Parm chicken breast crispy but moist and the Marinara just pulled it all together! Gosh, a bread roll or crumble of garlic bread to mop up that sauce would have been the bomb! Note, the special of the eve was Smoked Duck Breast etc for $34.00. In the same breathe the waitress noted that the menu was to change on May 1. It will be interesting to see what goes, what stays but they are overdue for a new menu. Service was prompt, typical college student "awareness" but was attentive. It's wise to inquire of specials here as they are not always noted by the wait staff. IE, they have a fine Rombauer Chard by the glass that's not on the menu. Our past experience here is that many servers have to go ask!! The ambience is the best in Troy still, and B. Graves presence in the growing Downtown Square should only help. Over the years we've always been able to walk in and be seated. But they DO close for special events (Christmas Parties) and you must have a reservation during Troy University Home Football weekends!!
I wasn't expecting much from a small, college town but was pleasantly surprised with the attentive staff and delicious dinner.
